I’m a Tier-2 Canada Research Chair and an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba in the Department of Civil Engineering. Additionally, I serve as an affiliated researcher in the Climate Hazards Center at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
My research program integrates hydroclimate and geospatial data to proactively quantify climate risks and their impacts on human societies. By leveraging advanced data analytics and modeling techniques within this integrated framework, I seek to deepen our understanding of how climate variability and extreme events influence water resources, food systems, and community resilience.
Current research themes:
- Water Risk: Assessing vulnerabilities in water supply systems and developing strategies to mitigate risks associated with floods, droughts, and other water-related hazards.
- Food Security: Analyzing the impacts of climate variability on agricultural productivity to ensure sustainable food systems and aid activities.
By delivering actionable insights, I empower policymakers and stakeholders to make informed decisions, effectively mitigating risks and significantly enhancing resilience for communities and ecosystems on a global scale.
