Junhyuk Lee

I am a fourth-year mechanical engineering student at the University of Manitoba. I received my first Undergraduate Research Award (URA) in summer 2024 for research on fault diagnosis through vibration analysis of rotating machinery with Dr. Xihui Liang of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. I also worked as an Engineering Design Assistant at Price Industries (Critical Environment Unit), where I designed special orders, made engineering changes to address internal design constraints, and contributed to new product development for the USASA hybrid structure unit.

In summer 2026, I worked as a Mechanical Engineering Summer Student with the High Performance Building Design team at Stantec Consulting, while conducting research with the Hydroclimate–Society Lab on integrating AI into data acquisition and processing for the HarvestStat Africa project.

I have been involved with several undergraduate engineering societies: I served as president of the ASHRAE University of Manitoba student branch, took on the role of Team Lead for Wind Energy Design (WE Design), and am a long-standing member of the University of Manitoba Engineering Society (UMES). Through my research and these involvements, my primary interests are sustainability in engineering through renewable-energy-integrated building design and climate change awareness within the engineering industry.
