In February 2022, I graduated from the University of Manitoba with a BSc in Civil Engineering (Environmental Option). I am currently working on my PhD thesis in Water Resources Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Masoud Asadzadeh and Dr. Donghoon Lee at the University of Manitoba. My thesis is titled “Evaluating agricultural best management practices for improving water quality under current and future climate conditions in the Red River Basin”. I am using a SWAT+ (Soil & Water Assessment Tool) hydrologic model to evaluate the impact of select agricultural best management practices on water quality in the Red River Basin (RRB). My primary research and career interests are hydrology and hydrologic modeling. I also have an interest in Urban Water Systems Design, which incorporates both hydraulics and hydrologic engineering skills. My work in this field as a student has been nationally recognized through my undergraduate capstone team’s 3rd place win at the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) 2021 National Capstone Competition.
Alexis is co-advised by Dr. Asadzadeh and Dr. Lee.
